All Can Sizes Dimensions

From Coca-Cola and Budweiser to Red Bull and White Claw, nearly every beverage can in the United States is built on one of four standardised can diameters – 211, 204, 202, or 307.

All four diameter families. All major formats. One place.

Standard Can Sizes and Dimensions

It uses a 211 body diameter (66mm) and a 202 end (52mm). It is the most produced beverage can format in the world.

12 oz Standard Can

The 12 oz (355ml) standard can stands 4.81 inches (122mm) tall. Its body diameter is 2.60 inches (66mm). It uses a 202 end measuring 2.05 inches (52mm).

Coke can dimensions and beer can dimensions are identical — same body, same end, same tooling.

16 oz Standard Can

The 16 oz (473ml) standard can stands 6.19 inches (157mm) tall. Same body diameter of 2.60 inches (66mm). Same 202 end (52mm).

It is simply taller. Same line. Same seamer. Just more liquid.

8.4 oz Stubby Can

The 8.4 oz (250ml) stubby stands 3.62 inches (92mm) tall. It carries the same 2.60-inch (66mm) body diameter as the 12 oz.

Short and compact. Used in juice, mini sodas, and specialty formats.

19.2 oz Standard Can

The 19.2 oz (568ml) format stands approximately 7.0 inches (178mm) tall. Same 2.60-inch (66mm) diameter. Same 202 end.

Slim vs Sleek Can Dimensions

This is the most misunderstood topic in beverage can sizing.

Slim Can Dimensions

The slim can is the narrowest format on the market. It uses a 202 body code (53mm) and requires a 200 end — not a 202.

Red Bull built its entire identity on the slim format. The Red Bull can dimensions are: 5.28 inches (134mm) tall, 2.09 inches (53mm) wide, with a 200 end (50mm).

Other slim sizes include:

  • 187ml slim can — approximately 4.5 inches (114mm) tall, 53mm wide. Common in canned wine and airline service.
  • 200ml slim can — approximately 4.8 inches (122mm) tall, 53mm wide. Used in premium RTD coffees and specialty drinks.

Important: The slim can’s 200 end is not interchangeable with the 202 end used on standard and sleek cans.

Sleek Can Dimensions

It uses a 204 body diameter (57mm) — slightly wider than slim — but shares the 202 end with the standard can.

White Claw, Celsius, Truly, and High Noon all use the 12 oz sleek. This is the go-to format for hard seltzers, functional energy drinks, and RTD cocktails.

White Claw can dimensions and Celsius can dimensions are identical: 6.12 inches (155mm) tall, 2.24 inches (57mm) wide, 202 end (52mm).

Other sleek sizes:

  • 8.4 oz sleek4.53 inches (115mm) tall, 57mm wide, 202 end
  • 7.5 oz sleek — approximately 4.1 inches (104mm) tall, 57mm wide
  • 16 oz sleek — approximately 6.9 inches (175mm) tall, 57mm wide

The 12 oz sleek is the fastest-growing beverage can format in the US right now — driven entirely by the hard seltzer and functional beverage boom.

Tallboy and King Can Dimensions

Tallboy Can Dimensions

The 16 oz (473ml) tallboy stands 6.19 inches (157mm) tall with a body diameter of 2.60 inches (66mm) and a 202 end (52mm).

Monster Energy, Rockstar, Bang, and the vast majority of US craft beer pints use this exact format. Monster can dimensions are textbook tallboy — same body as a 12 oz Coke, just taller.

The 19.2 oz (568ml) tallboy — sometimes called a stovepipe — stands approximately 7.0 inches (178mm) tall. Same 2.60-inch (66mm) diameter. Built almost entirely for the convenience store cold vault.

King Can and Crowler Dimensions

The King Can — also called a Crowler — is the largest aluminum beverage can format in standard US production. It uses a 307 body diameter (78mm), the widest of all beverage can types, and a 300 end (76mm).

This format needs completely different seamer tooling. It does not share a line with standard, sleek, or slim formats.

  • 32 oz (946ml) Crowler — approximately 7.0 inches (178mm) tall, 3.07 inches (78mm) wide, 300 end (76mm). The dominant to-go craft beer format at US taprooms.
  • 25.4 oz (750ml) King Can — approximately 6.3 inches (160mm) tall, 3.07 inches (78mm) wide
  • 24 oz (710ml) King Can — approximately 6.0 inches (152mm) tall, 3.07 inches (78mm) wide

FAQ’s About Can Dimensions

What are the dimensions of a standard 12 oz can?

A standard 12 oz (355ml) can stands 4.81 inches (122mm) tall with a 2.60-inch (66mm) body diameter and a 202 end (52mm). This is the most common beverage can size in the US.

What is the difference between a slim can and a sleek can?

A slim can is 53mm wide and uses a 200 end. A sleek can is 57mm wide and uses the standard 202 end. They look similar on a shelf but are not interchangeable on a filling line. Sleek cans are far more common and easier to source in the US.

Are slim and sleek can ends interchangeable?

No. Slim cans use a 200 end (50mm). Sleek and standard cans use a 202 end (52mm). Using the wrong end will cause seaming failures. Always match end size to body diameter.

What size is a Red Bull can?

Red Bull uses a slim 8.4 oz (250ml) format5.28 inches (134mm) tall, 2.09 inches (53mm) wide, with a 200 end (50mm).

What is a tallboy can?

A tallboy is a 16 oz (473ml) standard-diameter can standing 6.19 inches (157mm) tall with a 2.60-inch (66mm) body diameter. Monster Energy and most US craft beer pints use this format.

How big is a 250ml can?

It depends on the format. A sleek 250ml is 4.53 inches (115mm) tall, 57mm wide. A slim 250ml is 5.28 inches (134mm) tall, 53mm wide. A standard stubby 250ml is 3.62 inches (92mm) tall, 66mm wide.

What is a 202 can end?

A 202 end is the most common lid in the US — 2.05 inches (52mm) in diameter. It fits both standard and sleek can bodies.

What is a Crowler can?

A Crowler is a 32 oz (946ml) large-format aluminum can used by craft breweries for to-go draft beer. It stands approximately 7.0 inches (178mm) tall with a 3.07-inch (78mm) body and a 300 end (76mm). It requires its own seamer and cannot run on a standard filling line.

What can sizes fit standard filling lines?

Standard (211 body) and tallboy formats run on the same line — same body diameter, same end. Sleek (204 body) requires a separate line setup. Slim (202 body) needs its own tooling and a different end. King/Crowler needs completely dedicated seamer equipment.

Why does a White Claw can look taller than a Coke can?

Both hold 12 oz, but the sleek White Claw (57mm wide, 155mm tall) is narrower and taller than the standard Coke can (66mm wide, 122mm tall). The sleek format trades width for height to achieve a taller, more premium silhouette.
